The Media Association Jamaica Limited expresses condolences to the family and associates of broadcaster and former government minister, Anthony Abrahams who died last week.

Mr. Abrahams will be fondly remembered by many of our members with whom he was associated through the launching of the morning discussion programme “The Breakfast Club”.  His work on this project led to a significant change in morning radio programming and heralded the introduction of niche programming on morning radio in Jamaica.

Many may not recall that Mr. Abrahams also developed and presented an incisive television programme called “In-Depth” on CVM television in the mid 1990s.  He has always been a critical thinker who showed passion for the role, media in general and journalism in particular, could play in shaping discourse on national development. 

His contribution to media will always be remembered and the Media Association salutes him even as we offer our sympathies to those we are certain will miss him.
