The Media Association Jamaica Limited (MAJ) has today advised the Minister With Responsibility for Information, Hon. Daryl Vaz, to make an offer to Haitian authorities for help from some MAJ members to aid in establishing an emergency radio broadcasting system in Port-au-Prince.

Several of the radio members of the Association have agreed to combine efforts to put together a small studio and FM transmitter system to re-establish some type of radio information system in Haiti.  The Minister has agreed that, on the trip by Prime Minister Golding this afternoon, the offer would be made and a response provided to MAJ as soon as he returns.

The Association members have also said they would provide the technical support at short notice to get this project going.
